About OpticVisionPro

Why this store exists

Somewhere in your forties, the menu moves. Then the phone. Then the back of the shampoo bottle. You buy a pair of drugstore readers, and they solve exactly one problem: they make close things sharp and everything else soft. So you spend the next few years pushing them up, pulling them down, and leaving them in other rooms.

The fix already exists — a lens with more than one focal zone — but it has mostly been sold at optician prices, made to measure, with an appointment attached. OpticVisionPro sells the ready-made version: one lens that handles reading, screen distance, and glancing up, with a clear top so looking up does not mean looking through a magnifier. No prescription, no appointment, $39.95.

What we will not tell you

This category has a credibility problem, and it is earned. Stores in this space routinely advertise "ships in 24 hours" and deliver in six weeks, publish only their five-star reviews, and route returns to an address in another hemisphere. We would rather be boring and accurate:

  • We say Standard Delivery 6-8 Days* because that is what it is. Processing adds 1 to 2 business days on top. We do not claim next-day anything.
  • We do not claim our glasses are FDA approved, doctor recommended, or clinically proven. Ready-made readers are a Class I device that is exempt from FDA premarket review — that is not the same as approval, and we will not pretend it is.
  • We do not claim they treat presbyopia. Nothing you buy without a prescription treats presbyopia. They magnify, which is a genuinely useful thing for a lens to do.
  • We tell people who these do not suit. If you have astigmatism, or your two eyes need different strengths, ready-made readers cannot help you and we would rather say so than take the order and the return.

Still get your eyes checked

Reading glasses fix focusing. They do not check for glaucoma, macular degeneration, or the dozen other things an eye exam catches, and the risk of all of them goes up after 40. Buy the readers. Also book the exam.
